Situated close to Chamba in Uttaranchal, and just 60 km from Rishikesh is Ranichauri Camp in New Tehri at about 5500 feet. Set amidst Apple orchards along with plum, apricot and other fruiting trees the camp is totally surrounded by pine and deodar forests. The only sound you hear is the birds chirping or the rustling of the pine tree leaves, which sometimes sound like a river flowing down the mountains. The view from the camp is spectacular with snow capped peaks visible on a clear day. On the other side one can see Tehri, Dhanolti and Mussoorie in the distance.

The tents provided are deluxe in nature with attached bathrooms in all and attached toilets in some. Toilets are flush type with English seats. The camps serves wholesome food both veg and non veg. Water is provided through tanks and generator facility is provided in the evening. Various activities provided at the camp are rock climbing, rappelling, mountain trek, painting, visit to the village etc. One can also visit the Tehri Dam about 20 km away.
